What makes a drift game feel right on a phone

Racing on a touchscreen is hard to get right, and most games fail by trying to be too realistic. Neon Drift Alley reminded me that arcade handling, done properly, beats simulation every time on mobile.

The trick is generous forgiveness. A good drift game lets you initiate a slide a little late and still recover with style. It should feel like you're better than you actually are, not worse.

Track length matters too. Long circuits belong on a console; on a phone I want a race I can finish before my stop. Short, punchy, replayable — that's the mobile sweet spot.

And please, give me a mute button that's easy to find, plus a soundtrack good enough that I never want to press it. Small things, but they decide whether a racer stays installed.
