Ashfall Wardens

★★★★★ 4.7

Ashfall Wardens is a proper story-driven RPG that respects your time. Battles are turn-based on a grid, and positioning matters more than raw stats — flanking, high ground, and shielding your healer are things you'll learn quickly or lose badly.

  • Meaningful branching story
  • Deep but forgiving character builds
  • Excellent tactical combat

Questions & answers

How do you choose which games to review?

We look for indie and small-studio titles across every genre, especially ones the big charts overlook. A game gets picked when at least one editor finds it interesting enough to spend real time with. We deliberately mix genres so the catalog never turns into just one type of game.

Do developers pay you for reviews or better scores?

No. We don't take money to publish a review or to raise a rating, ever. If we ever cover something a developer sent us, we'll play it on the same terms as anything else and score it honestly.

Can I suggest a game for you to cover?

Absolutely, and we read every suggestion. Just email us with a link and a line about why you like it. We can't promise to review everything, but strange little finds are exactly what we're after — that's how we ended up covering Big Bass 3in1.

Is there advertising on the site?

We may run light, clearly-marked ads to help cover hosting, but they never influence what we write or how we score. Editorial and any advertising are kept completely separate. If that ever changes, we'll tell you plainly.
